Our Story
In 2017 our journey began in humble beginnings!
Steve Beaty Snr, fresh from being bitten by the Escape Room bug decided to hire a small office to share his love of creating fun puzzles for people to solve...The Riddle Room was born.
The demand was massive but the room was not. After 5 successful years Steve came to the conclusion that to reach more people he needed a larger venue. After a brief pit stop we have found our forever home at the old bakery located right next to the Forest Hall shops, opposite The Flying Scotsman.

Steve Beaty Snr
Founder of The Riddle Room, Steve Beaty Snr discovered his love for escape rooms when he attended a team building day with his previous employers.
Steve's biggest loves are his grandchildren and introducing the world of escape rooms to people of all ages.
Game Master
Nicky Beaty
Nicky is Steve's son and the brains behind most of the scenarios The Riddle Room has to offer.
Nicky is a die hard Newcastle United fan and has witnessed the highs and lows St James Park has to offer.
Handyman
Tom Hutchinson
79 and still going strong, Tom is the handy man and heart and soul of The Riddle Room. A handyman with over 50 years experience, Tom enjoys his daily puzzles and a cheeky takeaway.
